There's a once-per-semester dance competition involving all the frats and sororities get paired up with one another to raise money & dance. It's a way to raise money and allow people to connect with each other. Frat/sorority pairings are meant to be random, but they've historically followed a pattern of touse x touse. An important new rule is that you can't be paired with an org you've already been paired with the last 5 semesters (there are 13 frats and 12 sororities)

Pairings are random except for this restriction, and it ended up so that 3 "top" frats got less "high ranked" greek orgs. These frats decided to drop the dance competition because they "don't want to dance with chopped girls"
