I’m atheist and this is going to sound ignorant but I’m genuinely curious. How do religious people reconcile their faith with the observable “truths” of the universe, I feel like they’re completely at odds with each other

Honestly I grew up in a Muslim household and the religion helps me live with a stronger moral foundation. I still have doubts sometimes but I’d rather have faith than die believing in nothing. If I’m wrong I really don’t lose nothing

Okay… but that wasn’t the question I was asking 😭

Also if they’re “completely at odds” you should elaborate a bit instead of a bland ass statement. Typical atheist

And that wasn’t the question I asked. The question I asked has how you reconcile the two. My asking why you believed implies that I think yoj shouldn’t believe. My question is how do you get the universe to fit inside religious frameworks when science seems to contradict it?

A very easy example is universal creation. An easier still example is evolution. Geology also doesn’t seem like it merges well with religion. I said it broadly because Yik yak limits the amount of characters you can type in a post.

I answered why I still believe in religion? Like what 😭

The contrast between religion and science becomes even more stark in places like medicine and biology where religion associates certain beliefs things with morality while science dictates that said things are not actually a thing you can even decide to do.
