Like realistically how many people with a GPA under 3.5 and no work experience are getting coops?

Relevant clubs are important, especially a leadership position. My roomate went through a co op cycle (with a 3.8 gpa but no relevant clubs) and came out with 0 interviews, nothing. Next co op cycle he joined a relevant club, put in the work and he’s gotten multiple interviews already. Still no offer but he’s closer than he was before, and it’s proof that a high gpa is not what makes a company choose you

When I say relevant club I mean one that relates to your major/desired job. Not a frat/sorority, running club or downhillers, but instead a business management club, engineering club, chemistry club, etc
