if u want a specific class its good to network with a prof, esp if its their niche class. ik some of the schools do department wide hiring iirc?

Depends on the department… most humanities classes only have PhD students as TAs but khoury and a lot of the math classes have professors scout for their better students to come back as TAs for future sections of their classes

If you’re a professors fav student and you’ve impressed them then they’ll ask u to be their TA

it's usually better to network and then ta for a professor you know! that way you know how to work with them and better help students. and don't hesitate to reach out and ask professors, i email my favorite professor every semester to check-in and since he currently teaches smaller classes he doesn't have them but he asks me to keep emailing and checking in!
