Update: Today’s incident was someone trying to commit, but failed deescalation led to the person shooting and stabbing the police officers, leading to the person getting shot. It is not known if the kid was a northeastern student. Again, details TBC.

yes I’m not saying that the police did not do what they had to do according to protocol but they tried to de-escalate without violence and it failed. there is def more nuance to the situation, especially psychological ones but the word limit makes it harder to explain
