about an hour of responses and its 6-186 (3% yes). im really curious to hear the why behind the yes answers, partially to see if its the same event multiple people know of or not

in light of recent events on campus i want to survey people.... have you ever used, seen someone use, or heard of someone using the blue light system?

i dont know how expensive they are, i dont know the usage rates, but they dont seem very effective, especially given whats happened. of course, if theyve genuinely saved a single person thats great and theoretically makes it a worthwhile expense, but i feel like theres other options than the blue light system

my goal wasnt to gauge northeastern's safety but the use of the blue light system specifically. three events on campus where i dont know how they couldve been utilized, and use cases of the lights seems to be pretty limited too

I don’t think your survey really works since northeastern is a pretty safe campus. Everyone has a phone so if something happens people will just call the cops. Just because they’re not used often doesn’t mean they serve no purpose.

I mean the use would be a situation where someone is not able to contact authorities for any reason it’s limited but it’s a proactive solution

I mean idk about everyone else but I’ve never been in a situation where I’ve needed to use the blue light system. In my opinion if I do happen to be in that kind of danger (god forbid) then yeah I’d use the blue light system or call 911/someone trusted if I can.
