Hate to say it but GPA is not determining if you get a co-op, it is your interview skills and extracurriculars

I did my first and second cycle, it depends on ur major but for me the interview got me it

did u start applying super early/did u network w like the ppl in those companies?

Anonymous May 9, 2026 ▲ 1

i got a finance coop with a 3.0 application restriction a year ago when i had literally just gotten above 3.0 the semester prior. market has changed and shit is harder but you can get a coop and a great one if you can project yourself well

GPA really doesn’t matter much. I have 3.96 and my interviewer didn’t notice until I got my offer.

Anonymous May 9, 2026 ▲ 9

Yeah I’m ngl I’m cssh and I think my gps was a 2.5 when I got a co op

Anonymous May 9, 2026 ▲ 25

was it a competitive company?

Anonymous May 9, 2026 ▲ 1

cssh coops are less ab gpa and far more about the interview and conveying ur passions and what u can contribute from previous experiences!! esp ur first one, they want to see how coachable u are and where u want to geo towards, since u likely have less experience due to age

Anonymous May 9, 2026 ▲ 18

I got one and I have a 2.8

Anonymous May 9, 2026 ▲ 8

Yes, I’m a 2nd year and I have a 3.4 I got one in March for fall 26 cycle. I was also abroad my first year and all my activities only started from fall 2025 cuz I wasn’t on campus until then

OP- commenting this to you but stop worrying about co-ops. Getting your first co-op may take two cycles but here is my advice: join clubs relating to your major, practice your interview intro (that is what really determines if the interviewer likes you) and try not to get in your head. I got rejected from co-ops that I got literally the next cycle, sometimes it is just luck. It is not you, it is the market. Apply early next cycle and you are not the problem for not getting a co-op first cycle

3.2, got the job cause I don’t think many other ppl applied, also did lots of research before and had some relevant skills from my old job, also i followed up and thanked them for their time in an email after

Anonymous May 9, 2026 ▲ 9

Depends on major

Anonymous May 9, 2026 ▲ 4

3.3 no gpa on resume and got 2 offers

It was a MLE/MLOps role. IMO it was mildly competitive and there were a decent number of applicants for one position.

No I’m COS honestly couldn’t tell y how many ppl applied but i had a phone screen and one in-person so probably not that crazy
