No trust
probably means they offered someone else the role and you’re the backup plan if they decline
but if they said they wanted to close the role today and didn’t give a set deadline could that rly be the case? :(

unfortunately yes, in all likelihood someone else was offered the role or they might have someone they like better who is a bit behind you in the process. i’d send an email on monday asking for an update given they told you today.
