I’m starting to ask myself if Northeastern is even worth it since coop is really best for business students
bro just realized he got scammed 🧯
Yes lol
You realize that regular people can work during college too right? All this program does is push college so that it happens throughout the year or in 5 years. Co-op was about Northeastern helping to find a job but they are lackluster in that ability these days
Uhhhh no you’re only not getting field experience if you’re not working to find it. Either you don’t have friends outside of Northeastern or they are lazy.
Networking is for business majors you don’t need to network as an engineer or scientist
Bro no? Pre med, engineering, prob the art people too even. What are you on? You think one year of professional experience does not help a college student find a job 😭😭
It’s worth it cause u get me, the community puhh 😏😘
No they at best get summer internships that last three months and are difficult to get. Yeah you can work as a waiter during college instead but that does not give you in field experience. Also better to push off graduation to wait for the job market to get better
What companies are hiring PAID interns to do part time work during the school year? No I think you may just be part of the social elite who’s moms and dads get your friends jobs or you’re a business major.
what’s your major?
Coops take most of the competition out of summer internships which everyone else rely on. People need to not just use NuWorks and apply elsewhere AND use their network. Talk to people and make connections which is how you are going to get a real job after you graduate. We can’t expect to get a ton of interview and offers from just submitting our resume. 100+ people have already done the same thing. Advisors aren’t there to hold your hand through a tough job market. Start leveraging your network
I agree they definitely give off the impression that the school will help or even “guarantee” a co-op but if you graduate in 4 years with a year of work experience you have a huge leg up on any other kid who went to a non T20 private school and only got 1 or maybe 2 summer internships. Like if u were an employer are u hiring the kid with a year of work experience from NU or 3 - 6 months from Vanderbilt or whatever, prob NU.
