Can somebody explain the appeal of nyc to me? My gf is moving there, not going to be making a ton of money and has lots of student debt and I just don’t think she realizes that she’ll barely be breaking even financially. What’s the reason?

if she already has a job then what does it matter? it’s her choice. nyc is a great city with tons of opportunities and like every post grad there is broke.

For the salary she’s making, she’d be considered loaded in Kentucky lol. Just not enough to balance out the nyc cost of living

you can live anywhere in your 30s, 40s, etc but there is no replacing your 20s. who wouldn’t want to live in one of the most culturally relevant places in the country in the prime of their lives? money truly isn’t everything
