Is it possible to rush a frat (then pledge), join academic clubs, keep up with a rigorous engineering course load, and maintain a disciplined physical fitness schedule all in one semester.

As someone in a fraternity, kind of. Realistically, everything is going to take a slight hit unless you truly cut something out. Grades might slip a bit, your commitment to clubs will probably take a back seat, and the gym is going to require more drive than before. It’ll be the most stressful semester you’ve had but incredibly rewarding if you make it through.

i got a 4.0 my pledge semester as an engineer it's possible

I’ll tell you as somebody who pledged last sem, it’s very possible. Realistically, pledging is not going to be the make or break on whether or not your grades are good, if you had discipline for freshman year, you’ll be chilling. As for clubs, it’s pretty much game over. If you’re planning on rushing a top frat, your plate will be pretty full on all week nights which is when most clubs meet. Physical fitness is a tough one, but very doable. Good luck man

I joined 2 academic clubs

i had to miss plenty of meetings but it's not like you do much as 1st sem freshman

I wouldn’t let that deter you tho. If it’s just clubs, I’m sure you’ll be able to make at least half the meetings, i guess it just depends on how committed you are to frat vs clubs

I pledged as an engineer and held a 4.0. Most fraternities will make you stay fit for pledge so I wouldn't worry abt that. Academic clubs with all of that absolutely would NOT have been possible as I was sleeping like 6 hours per night on average. Other guys in my PC in engineering had significantly lower gpas (like 3.0) so I wouldn't push it, I just joined academic clubs after initiating
